What is "Batalla Cantarama"?
This is a nationwide competition where sixteen songs in Spanish battle it out in an elimination style tournament bracket.

You have two songs to choose from for each battle. Students and teachers can all vote. The losing song is eliminated and the winning song continues on to the next round. The final round consists of the two most popular songs competing for the crown.
How long is the tournament?
This is a semester long song competition.
It begins February 2nd 2026 and the winning song (and contest winners) are announced on May 5th (cinco de mayo).
When can we vote for each battle?
There will be a new battle each week until the semi-finals.
Classes can vote anytime from Monday-Thursday. The final results will be posted on Fridays.
On the weekends you can just sing the songs in the car or in the shower or wherever you do your singing.
Why are the last 2 rounds so fast?
The first two rounds give you time to learn all about the songs and artists before the competition really heats up!

By the last week of April, there will be 4 songs left. Each of the 3 remaining battles will last two school days.
Some schools get out mid May so it is important that we crown a winner and reveal the contest winners.
Do I HAVE to make a bracket?
Umm... We at Cantarama can't make you do anything. You can totally participate in the voting without making a bracket.
Then again, for some of us, a little friendly competition goes a long way.
Even if your class doesn't compete with brackets, you can always print them off for your family or friends and have your own competition at home or in the school cafeteria. Go off, queen (or king? Go off, royal person.)
What if my favorite song loses?
Losing builds resilience. Carry on, my friend.
It can still be the winner in your heart.
